Safe And Sound (Lyric Version) by BronyApproved

Happy Friday night to all!!

Whats better than a Lyric Video? Ok fine, ponies might be better. But then, how great would a Lyric Video PMV be?!?

Tonight we bring an upbeat fun PMV done by BronyApproved. The PMV itself has excellent scene choice, and lip syncing that lines up almost perfectly. The typography portion also brings cards to the table. BronyApproved used great fonts and vibrant colours to really capture the attention of the viewer. I loved seeing scenes of season 4 placed throughout the PMV. This was a really great PMV lyric video, but I am already looking forward to more of BronyApproved’s work.

Lose Yourself by rainbowdashzx

Are you a fan of Eminem? Yes? No? It doesn’t matter, either way there’s something here for you! Swanky video style, suited perfectly to the song- and well played out clip selection to total up to a cool experience! We need a Mom’s Spaghetti version too, just for how silly it would look. It could totally be a thing too! Spaghetti ponies.. I need more!

ピンクのBUTT馬は楽しいが大好き!by Izeer

You know, sometimes the things this fandom is capable of genuinely scares me. What started out as some bland and unrelated conversation between a fan and one particular ‘sunny’ voice actress (by the way, you can get the full story HERE), has now evolved into a full-blown, totally legit movement. And at its spear-point, is this trip of a PMV. A re-imagining of this already trippy piece of work, it has this kind of infectious beat to it, that once it gets into your head this way, you’ll never be able to hear it any other way. Also, it’s got butts, so…you know…win-win there.

Anyway, enjoy your dose of weird for the day. #Flankarmy!

Multiplot by MyNamesNotKim

Some PMVs have great stories or plots within them, but that doesn’t mean that one without much of a “message” is a bad PMV. Au contraire, as with any art form, there are many styles of PMVs out there, and today’s just happens to fit more into the “pointless fun” sort of category. This fact quickly becomes obvious upon hearing the song, which is a fun mashup of quite a few different pop songs. The energy level of the video is quite high to match the music, and I think the result is a lot of fun to watch.

And did I mention that this is the author’s first PMV? Head over to their channel to subscribe or leave some props on an excellent first foray into the PMV world! It’s always exciting to have new PMV artists among us, and I would say that this is a solid first effort, and a lot of energetic fun.

A Letter from Equestria by Paul Miller IV

lost_letter_by_azenge-d5as90u

I’m going to make a really ignorant American statement here and just point out that I love English accents from… well, pretty much anywhere besides the U.S. Especially Scottish ones, and even more especially when they’re singing. So, obviously, I really enjoy the song in today’s PMV, by the Proclaimers. Admittedly, sometimes I don’t even know what they’re saying, but hey, it’s still fun to listen to!

And let’s not forget about the PMV now, which is really why we’re all here. This is a simple PMV in the very best way. No glittery frou-frou edits here, just a lot of solid scene choices, tight editing, and good flow. The whole thing has a vaguely cheerful and happy vibe that will probably lift your spirits as you watch. I like how the choice of scenes comes from a very wide pool of episodes — it shows that Mr. Miller really put some work into finding just the right clips. I also like how the text on either end of the video really makes it feel more like a real music video.

The Ballad Of Oregon by ObbsessiveBookworm

This video is brought to you by Apples to The Core.

In this relatively simple PMV, we’ve got a bunch of excellent clip matching.  There are some subtle effects and nice overlays when you look around, but those scenes are just perfect for such a beat centric song like this one.  There isn’t as much storytelling as I would have liked though, with each visual only matching up with the song in terms of what that particular line was saying.  BUT THANK LUNA WE DIDN’T OVERUSE THE FILTER.  I was really expecting for that one orange-old-country filter to be used throughout the entire song, but it was instead used sparingly, and the transitions between the orange parts and the not so orange parts were beautifully done and fit without any sort of jumpiness.  Check out a very literal PMV below with some nice control on the FX.

Everything Wrong With Dusk’s Dawn in 4 Minutes or Less by LittleshyFiM

LittleshyFiM brings us a new Cinema Sins parody, based in the fan-made animation: Dusk’s Dawn, this animation doesn’t have a “very” good reception in the fandom, all this maybe is for the mistakes of animation/sounds/editings/etc….

But whatever, in a more personal view for the original video and the creators, I recommend this phrase: “The quality is always better than quantity”. These different errors can work as an intuition and experience for make better animations and videos.

So… keep it up your work guys! persistence is the key to success.

Prepare your popcorn, because you will have a funny parody that’s below.

We The Kings | Sad Song by SpectraPony

The name of this song doesn’t lie, so prepare yourself for some intense feels from this video. The focus of this one is Rarity and Applejack, who’ve both had some emotional episodes recently. I really enjoyed the use of transparency to show both an Applejack and Rarity scene on top of each other. The selection of appropriately sad scenes is spot on here, but the video doesn’t go too far and make it depressing. I don’t know about you but when I see one of the characters’ ears go flat it always breaks my heart; cheer up ponies!
