No Matter What, We’re Friends by Racecarghost1

mlp_best_friends_by_blairaine-d5ukmxp

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Racecarghost has worked with a bunch of voice actors to create an original song with a stunning PMV as well. This is one of the most impressive projects relating to PMVs that I’ve seen so far, and it looked like it turned out well.

As always, this seemed like another one of those amazing Japanese-styled PMVs and the melodious voices of the VAs blend in nicely with the video. From what I’ve seen, there is custom animation as well, so it’s definitely worth checking out!

On a side note, for those of you who don’t know, updates to the site are frequently posted on our official Twitter page, so be sure to follow us for updates there. Have a nice weekend everyone and check out this brilliant PMV below!

Everything Louder Than Everything Else by ObsessiveBookworm

mlp__equestria_girls_rainbow_rocks_syt_by_vaniaeditors-d7kdcof

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I know most of you are in a celebratory mood today, so have a 7 minute long Rainbow Rocks PMV to kickstart your day.

When it comes to length of PMVs, I’m always slightly skeptical when PMVs are over 5 minutes long, since sometimes the scenes are re-used over and over again during parts of the song. However, this one is an exception, the scenes are well-placed and it fits with the lyrics of the song well. I feel that there needs to be more PMVs dedicated to Rainbow Rocks since it is such an amazing movie, but then again it feels slightly harder to pull off a good Rainbow Rocks PMV as compared to a regular PMV as the raw footage is very limited.

Feel free to take some time to check out the PMV below.

From the Dust by Dazzl

From the Dust PMV

Dazzl is finally back and he brings us with another great motion graphics PMV (in 60 fps I may add), with one of my favorites and memorable drumstep songs of all time. Centered around Twilight Sparkle and her friends, this PMV has transitions and typography that looks great, even at 60 fps, each scene matching with the atmosphere of the song. If you’re a fan of motion graphics PMVs, you should totally check this one out.

Paradise by Equestria Collabs

Mm.  Equestria seems like such a lovely paradise while it’s cold and wintery up here in the U.S.

To follow up the previously posted collaboration, we have another group working on that Coldplay song that’s been done quite a few times.  And even though it’s been used for a couple, I do believe this is my favorite version so far.  I also get so hyped before even watching the thing because of all the awesome editors starring in it: Izeer, Gunca, Littleshy, Poki, Melon Harmony, Acleps.  It feels like seeing the names of the staff working on S5; so many stars gathering in one place that it’d better be good.

The thing I love most of all is the tone and flow of this video.  Collabs tend to have that problem where everybody edits in a different tone and it makes things seem incoherent.  In this one, everybody has their styles (CERTAINLY), but we get that same taste of happy ponies and magic coming everywhere from the custom animation to the effects and backgrounds.  It’s surprising that this team effort works so well.  Big thumbs up, guys!

While I keep dreaming of the day where every single PMV editor will join into a huge collab group and create the single best video of all times, please enjoy this piece of paradise below!

All This Time by The Collaboratory

Collaborations are one of my favorite aspects of this fandom. People coming together to create something that’s greater than the sum of its parts; it’s a truly magical process. I was lucky enough to be a small part of a collab by a new group called The Collaboratory. A lot of really awesome people worked together on this one, with a lot of different styles and effects showing up in the end result. I think it came together really well, but let us know what you think!

Luna’s Banishment (Deep Edition) by Argodaemon

I cannot even begin to fathom the depth of this video. Inspired by the inexplicable phenomenon (Princess Celestia Being Deep) that started it all, Argodaemon has managed to not only create an SFM version of the original, but has done a complete overhaul of the original video, featuring a wacky edition of the story of Nightmare Moon.

It’s always refreshing to see such light-hearted videos being made, and as usual, this video is replete with all the goodness that one would expect from Argodaemon’s SFMs. Check it out below, you won’t regret it!

Oh boy look what we have for us today, this is my first post so I’m glad it could be a PMV to one of my favorite bands of all time. The One They Call Brony has brought us something very special with this PMV to the song Dio by Tenacious D. Might I also add if you’re a fan of PMVs with good lip sync, good stories and good music (like myself) then I highly suggest that you check this one out. I’m sure if you’re a Tenacious D fan you wont be disappointed.  (picture by mackinn7)

Wonderful World by MyNamesNotKim

tirek__my_foolish_brother_by_huussii-d7uenix

Today’s PMV is showcases one of the most important parts of our generation’s MLP: the bad guys. As with all TV shows, Friendship is Magic thrives on conflict. If you don’t have some evil magical superbeing constantly throwing your daily life out of whack, what do you have? You have G3, but that’s another story.

Speaking of villains and other generations, we’ve seen Tirek in the latest season; I wonder if at some point, we might see Scorpan show up as well, as an ally to help in some dire situation. Just a thought I had.

So anyway, this song is pretty strange, too. I’d never heard this version of ‘Wonderful World’ before, but it’s quite chilling and fitting for the dark theme of this video. There’s plenty of musical stings, like bass notes and drum strikes, that are perfect for laying over shots of evil eyes and explosive action shots. It’s overall a really cool video that we’re glad to share with you today.

Miss Equestrian Pie by Red Card

Goodoldplaces

For today, we have a special 8-minute PMV of the classic song “American Pie” by Don Mclean. It baffles me how Red Card managed to put together 8 minutes worth of footage from the show and edit it into a PMV.

Nevertheless, he recently reached 5000 subscribers and he’s a great editor whom we’ve featured here several times. On top of that, the video is replete with puns and it makes me reminisce about the past. It’s like a trip down memory lane. Check out the video below.

The Return of Harmony by formuladash

Grunge and fade-outs fix everything.  That’s my philosophy at least ;D

So we’re here again at a wonderful Tuesday evening, and with us we have a simple yet very compelling (in the most accurate sense of the word,) video that spotlights an amazing episode of My Little Pony.  It almost turns MLP into an entirely different atmosphere where girly colors and sunshine are only in the aesthetics.  It’s awesome.

Really, the effects are simple and so are the clip choices (albeit very well organized for a movie trailer).  But the thing I love most is that the editor, formuladash, who we haven’t seen in quite a while, turns everything into his own piece of art. The trailer music no longer belongs to ‘Vengers 2; the ponies are no longer part of the cute and cuddly Equestria.  Instead it’s an entirely new creation using both pieces.  I really think that’s an amazing thing in itself that more people should aim for.

As a couple of commenters have said, this vid really makes you want to watch the episode again.  So while I do that, y’all  should check this thing out.  Have a treat below!
