Hello guys and gals! Bringing you with a neat simple PMV by Athil MV and with a David Guetta song! This is one of those simple PMVs where it doesn’t use filters like barely or at all, and this one is that but it’s really good. The scenes used fit well with the song’s atmosphere and mood. And I like when the style changed quite a bit with the small scenes passing by and a lens flary background as well as the hearts transition around the second beat drop of the song. It’s a really nice touch to a great simple but satisfying PMV. Go watch it down below!
Hello again, people and horses from all walks of life. Jack here, telling you about a new PMV from up-and-coming editor, Alanj2007Games.
What’s instantly noticeable about this PMV is the 3D backgrounds and the heavy use of typography. The unique look of the backgrounds is a very nice touch, and the typography is, for the most part, very fluent. There are motion graphics thrown in there too, and that, combined with some rather stunning effects and visuals, makes this a PMV that is a treat for the eyes.
My only complaint that I have with this PMV is that it is incredibly short. Not even lasting a minute, the PMV feels like it’s building up to something spectacular, then suddenly, it’s over. This did disappoint me a little, as I feel the whole song could fit the editing style that Alanj was going for here, and to see only a glimpse of it makes me want more. Such a tease, that guy.
Still, for what it is, this PMV is visually impressive, and I can’t wait for more. Check out the PMV for Find You below!
Hello again. Jack here, back with another PMV that was submitted to this year’s BronyCon PMV Contest. Not only did this PMV take first place in the Dramatic category, but it was made by one of our very own authors on the site, Abby S!
When I saw this PMV for the first time, I knew it was going to place very well in the contest. The whole PMV was built to be dramatic from start to finish, with the combination of show clips, filters, transitions, and typography set to the pulsating music. The show clips match the lyrics incredibly well, and I thought the filters used added to the dramatic atmosphere superbly. Add the transitions and typography effects into the mix, and you have a very clean, well-made traditional PMV that is definitely worthy of its first place finish.
Check out the PMV for Guide You Home below, and make sure to check out Abby’s channel for more great PMV’s like this one!
Hey guys, back today with another PMV from chocalicorn.
So this PMV is a take on the traditional style of editing, with a twist. The editor has done well to find enough footage here considering there aren’t many superhero themed episodes. The pacing was nice, and so was the choice of clips.
The thing that made it stand out though was the simple motion graphics scenes thrown in to break up the scenes so the relatively slow pace doesn’t get too old. I also really liked the editors pun for “I’ve got a mask”. Since masking is cutting out a certain part of a frame, usually to replace the background.
All in all this was a nicely edited, well thought out PMV.
Untouchable by Alanj2007Games [Collab]
Here’s an incredible collab that came out yesterday, set to the song “Untouchable” by Tritonal and Cash Cash. Each part was beautiful, had their own styles, and transitioned into the next fluidly. This collaboration actually contains one of our own staff, JackDC93!
It was interesting to see how each person interpreted the lyrics. Most of them were unique, and some that were notable were the use of the mane 6 rainbow powers and Equestria girls; and my personal favorite, DASpacePony’s use of ponies from the S5 premiere. I only wish that they also included the Power Ponies. :(
You may recognize Alanj2007Games, and a few of his collab partners, from other groups such as The Collaboratory. And I hope this video is a success, because I’d love to see more from them. If you agree, why don’tcha go ahead and check it out, and maybe even share with your friends! I could go on rambling about this PMV, but hopefully I’ve gotten you excited enough to watch it now!
Hello, I’m NameGoes, and I am one of the writers here on PMV Today. You probably don’t know who I am, and that’s because I don’t make content for the fandom. Anyways, let’s get to this fun PMV by chocalicorn.
So, this video is obviously pointed at a certain ‘special’ someone, and I’m sure that he/she ‘enjoyed’ it. It features all of the mane six at some time or another (though not so much with Rarity and AJ) and boasts a very catchy song. I would definitely say it has a lighthearted feel through it, but it is rather difficult to categorize aside from saying its fun.
Something I really like about this PMV is the use of character expressions, body language, faces, etc, which definitely shows that chocalicorn knows the show and its scenes well. I also liked the presentation in general, the jolly and rather casual mood throughout really speaks for chocalicorn’s ability to carry a tone, and while the typography was somewhat simple, it was still well done for what it is, and is by no means lacking.
Overall, I really liked this PMV, and I hope you do too, go check it out below!
Hey Equestria, are you ready to ROCK?!
You better be because we’ve got an awesome comeback PMV from Bronies & Mash! Older readers may remember him as “The Invincible”, and he did a great job helping out with the site back in ye olden days.
So today we have a Rainbow Rocks centric PMV set to a pretty damn cool mashup of rock ballads. A common problem during making PMV’s is that sometimes it can be hard to match the atmosphere and vibe of the chosen song. However, Rainbow Rocks being based on music only helps to strengthen how well the video and audio match up.
What we end up with is a really fun and almost seamless tribute to rock music. It’s one of the best uses of EQG footage I’ve seen in a PMV yet. There’s no crazy effects but the footage stands up well enough to deserve merit. Great editing, solid lipsync, and a newfound peak for EQG music videos. I honestly couldn’t think of a better way to breathe new life into the site. I also can’t count how many times I’ve replayed the section at 1:47. The whole thing deserves praise for it’s awesome execution. I really enjoyed it. Can’t wait to see if Invincible has more tricks up his sleeve.
Hello guys! Finally back for another post! Been quite a busy month, and on my new schedule right now, dealing with college and stuffs. But anyways, onwards to this PMV. One thing I gotta say: Acleps never dissapoints me. In terms of visuals, editing and all that kind of stuffs, this guy is a genius! As soon as I clicked the video, I couldn’t stop smiling. Both because of the editing and the music choice. When I heard the first second I was like “Shawn Wasabi!!!”. The motion graphics in this really matched the song and added in a few pony sound fxs on it’s own to blend in with the song’s style. Overall a happy pmv that is like candy to my eyes. There’s even a 60 fps version for those who are interested!

ANYWAY welcome back everybody it’s time to get the PMV train rolling again after our amazing contest at Bronycon! Check out the contest page up top to find the results for that, and over the next few weeks we’ll be posting all the incredible submissions that we received. Be sure to give them all lots of love for their hard efforts!
And today we have an especially fantastic collaboration between the famed editors of Ye Olde YouTube Lore. That’s right folks, everyone from Acleps to DeLoop has joined in on this fantastic celebration of our favorite little ponies. Sure it might lack a little focus other than the Mane crew and some general pony counterparts, but the effects are VERY SHINY, the transitions are fast and furious, and the song is well matched. Check it out below and let the gang over at the Collaboratory know what you think!
Alright, here’s a challenge for you. Start playing the video and try not to smile immediately.
Did you fail? I did.
Here we have another great PMV by Arthychaud, who much to my delight is still kicking around. This is generally just an all-around happy feel good PMV. Mika’s vocal range still manages to impress me years down the line but that’s beside the point. Arthy has done a fantastic job showcasing upbeat scenes through the show and solidly syncing them up. I love the use of text and really love the solid color changes. Super simple but it just works beautifully. The ending of the PMV has to be one my favorite parts – the montage of various characters being affectionate just warms my heart. Why do these ponies have to be so GOSH DANG CUTE?!
Technically speaking, while I think the use of Pinkie’s smile song serves it’s purpose, I felt it was a tad overused. The video sets itself up as a Mane 6 homage and it would’ve been nice to see more hugs and nuzzles from the other ponies. The lack of lipsync is fine by me, but I think when you take that from a video other elements should compensate. Some parts of the video really struck gold and others could use a bit more work on the pacing and cutting to reach their full potential. Regardless, still a really fun video that I thoroughly enjoyed watching.
