Hello guys and gals. You ready to go on a feels trip? If you haven’t watched this, you better be ready for some feels. This new video by Argodaemon is really amazing. According to him, the idea and work of this started around 2 years ago. It’s impressive. The ambient in which is portrayed is very cinematic and combining with the small concept story about Twilight’s immortality and wanting to have her friends back really captures the emotions here. No joke, tears were shed when I watched this. I swear there’s some ninjas cutting onions in my room. Twilight’s immortality is something that the fans has been debating now that she’s an alicorn, but has been confirmed by official staff that Twilight will not outlive her friends. Though this concept is still really interesting to get into and make story with it, and sad indeed. Go watch it down below.
Here is a new Feel-Good PMV for you all, with some nice color effects and typography. It is set to the song by Ed Sheeran under the same name, and utilizes clips from various episodes throughout the show. Most of them involve enemies like Chrysalis, Discord and Nightmare Moon; but what I found intereating was their decision to include several shots from the episode Dragonshy.
I find this PMV to be very calming. Tigresss’ use of slow, cinematic shots and transitions were perfect for the song. After a day of stress, I am deeply enjoying watching this video on repeat. Especially if you like calming music and videos, I would recommend watching this. This guy is very good.
Welcome back, citizens of the internet. Jack here, showcasing to you today another fine PMV made by one of our very own authors on the site, Abby S.
When watching this PMV, it’s clear that several aspects seen in Abby’s previous PMV’s have evolved significantly. When I covered Abby’s PMV contest entry, Guide You Home, I mentioned how one of my favourite aspects of the PMV was how the show clips matched brilliantly with the music, and this is taken to another level with this PMV. The use of feel-good clips from the show, as well as a small use of vectors and masks at the beginning of the video, already set up a feel-good vibe, but the way the clips, vectors and masks are timed to the beat of the uplifting music create an immersion of positiveness that is hard to break out of. The vibrant, bright filters also add to the feel-good atmosphere this PMV creates, leaving you with a product that makes it very easy to put a smile on your face.
Typography is also present in this PMV, although it is used to a lesser degree than in some of Abby’s previous works. While I feel most of the typography used worked well here, there were a few moments where I felt it was a little intrusive. However, this is a very minor quibble in what is otherwise a fantastic, and clean, traditional PMV. I’ve always been a fan of well-made traditional PMV’s, and Abby is quickly becoming one of my favourite editors in that regard. With an evolution of established techniques on show here, as well as some new techniques being implemented, I look forward to see what she has in store.

Today I have some awesome typography for you guys. This was actually entered in the PMV contest for BronyCon, but sadly didn’t place. Don’t let that deter you, though, ’cause it is great.
Loyalty is probably one of the most iconic songs in the brony fandom, and this editor definitely does it justice. The editing is fast-paced to match the song, and captures the spirit of the music very well. The graphics flow together very well, and of course there is a lot of Rainbow Dash.
Apparently White Piano Key made this over a year ago, but only uploaded it recently. Though there are a few things I would have changed (namely, the bits with Rainbow and Soarin, which I don’t feel fit the overall theme of friendship), it is still a lot of fun, and leaves you feeling good.
Hey guys, got a lovely little PMV today from Amanie4cures.
We have another simply edited video, and the slow pace really does fit the song. I think the nice choice of clips coupled with the song itself is really uplifting. The creator did attempt some lipsync, and with more practice this could work really well. The creator also added a little more spice to the video with lens flares and simple but clever transitions between the clips. The editing itself is really well timed. I’m surprised this person doesn’t have more subs, because they certainly deserve them.
Overall I found this PMV very enjoyable, and hope you do too.
Hello guys and gals! Bringing you with a neat simple PMV by Athil MV and with a David Guetta song! This is one of those simple PMVs where it doesn’t use filters like barely or at all, and this one is that but it’s really good. The scenes used fit well with the song’s atmosphere and mood. And I like when the style changed quite a bit with the small scenes passing by and a lens flary background as well as the hearts transition around the second beat drop of the song. It’s a really nice touch to a great simple but satisfying PMV. Go watch it down below!
Woo, paper ponies!
Looks like we’re kickstarting another week, huh? Unfortunately, University has just started for me so I’ll likely be wrapped up with that for a bit. Education: Just say no.
Anywho, I found a pleasant surprise in my subscription box on Saturday. The return of omgilikeapples! I remember him fondly from his 2012 PMV – “Dear Princess Celestia…” The unique stop-motion paper style made that PMV stand out from a lot of others back then. It’s really nice to see a return to form utilizing that effect again in 2015 with a Porter Robinson song.
The video seems to be focused on the Season 2 finale, a recreation of the events throughout the two parter. It’s very neat to see it all brought together in this musical homage with some custom scenes to boot. For criticism, I’m left with wanting a bit more than just a recap of the episode in a different style. It’d be really cool to have more custom elements throughout! Still, what we get is great. The stop-motion style of editing is one that I’d love to see more of in PMV’s. Just imagine that done with custom art too… Oh wait, TheeLinker jumped on that train with La Da Dee…
I personally think it’d be awesome to see omgilikeapples make more stuff, so please go give them your support!
Hello again, people and horses from all walks of life. Jack here, telling you about a new PMV from up-and-coming editor, Alanj2007Games.
What’s instantly noticeable about this PMV is the 3D backgrounds and the heavy use of typography. The unique look of the backgrounds is a very nice touch, and the typography is, for the most part, very fluent. There are motion graphics thrown in there too, and that, combined with some rather stunning effects and visuals, makes this a PMV that is a treat for the eyes.
My only complaint that I have with this PMV is that it is incredibly short. Not even lasting a minute, the PMV feels like it’s building up to something spectacular, then suddenly, it’s over. This did disappoint me a little, as I feel the whole song could fit the editing style that Alanj was going for here, and to see only a glimpse of it makes me want more. Such a tease, that guy.
Still, for what it is, this PMV is visually impressive, and I can’t wait for more. Check out the PMV for Find You below!
Today I bring you a PMV from up-and-coming video editor, Drummershy, staring everyone’s favorite Princess Horse (unless you prefer Luna, Twilight, or Cadence), but if you love Celestia, this is the PMV for you!
This video has a pretty cool concept – the majority of video is inside Celestia’s cutie mark, with some cool, if simple, motion graphics. And as always, Drummershy displays some excellent scene selection. The song choice makes a lot of sense for a Princess Celestia video, and the whole thing flows together well. It is the kind of video that just leaves you feeling good.
My one major complaint would be the drumbeats in the beginning. Though I get the concept of the yellow circle beating in time with the drums, I feel like it could have been executed better. Perhaps take up more of the screen, instead of being off to the side? Regardless of that, this is a great PMV, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you definitely should. Drummershy always does well, and this is no exception.
Welcome back my dudes. Today we have a wonderful PMV from the overlord himself, MrDeLoop.
Now this PMV is simple as simple can be. And this is because it is a remastered version of DeLoop’s first ever full PMV. Now you may be thinking, “Why re make a perfectly good PMV?”. A lot of people have asked this question, and there’s more than one answer. The original was made back in 2011. Those who have been around since then will probably remember that the episodes were horribly de-saturated. Secondly, the editor has gained so much more skill and experience over the last 4 years that it was actually a pretty good idea to make this to show how far they’ve come.
But enough about why it was made, lets get to actually talking about what makes it great. Well most notably is just how great the editing is. Perfect cuts with perfect clips. Understandable from someone with so much experience. Then there’s the lip sync, which is some of the best lipsync I’ve seen from any PMV to date. Not only that, but I find that the singers voices match go well with each character chosen. Pretty clever if you ask me.
I personally think this is the best example of classic PMV editing this fandom has ever produced. But I’ll let you guys be the judges. Check it out bellow.
