RE: Your First PMV
My first video was moderately popular, though someone else went and redid my PMV and ended up getting a far better response.

First PMV? Hoo-nelly.

Almost 2 years ago now. Back when I didn't know how to get watermark-less footage or how to colour correct. Those were the days.

In terms of the first pony video I actually edited... well.

Cool

RE: Your First PMV
I started making videos because I was like "What BronyVids is doing is cool. I'll have what he's having." So I ponified a trailer.

Messy, what with the watermarks and the total variances in resolution (there's 480p, 1080p, probably some 720p...), but I'm glad I made it. Because later, I got to make a significantly-cleaner sequel, and it felt really cool having everything come full circle. Eventually I'll do Revolutions... eventually.

...Man I didn't even know how to do a fade-out then. I literally brought the entire exported movie into After Effects, created a black box that filled the entire screen, and made that go from 0 to 100 opacity. That's how I faded things out. The good ol' days~

Wow. This takes me back. Back to the good ol' WMM days! I put this together after watching some other PMVs ane being inspired to try it out. This song had been in my brain ever since I started watching the show, and to this day is still one of the most fitting PMV songs out there, in my opinion. Perhaps I should do an updated version of it!

Also, it's really cool to see all you guys' old videos up here. When I get the time and bandwidth, I'll watch em all, because I haven't even seen most of these!

RE: Your First PMV
My first PMV was a rap one, using the Wu Tang Clan.
I just thought it would be amusing to try matching each character with a different rapper,
but i found myself genuinely enjoying how the video started to come together as i was making it.

At that point the ball started rolling and i became hooked on making PMVs.

As far as improvement is concerned, here's a more recent attempt at the rap group concept.

Ha, my first PMV was only 5 months ago. So it's not quite the nostalgia trip like it is for some of you. Still, it got featured on PMVToday and EQD so I was pretty proud of it at the time.

I cringe at some of the editing on it now, even though I've only made four real PMVs total. I guess it goes to show how even a little bit of experience can go a long way.

First PMV, huh? I remember it too well. Saw some PMV's on YouTube, thought "I could make something like this!" Downloaded Sony Vegas, experimented with it, then a week later, this emerged:

I suppose it wasn't that much of a monstrosity. Big Grin
