Sunday Classics Week 7: January 28, 2013 [CLOSED]
Welcome to the Sunday Classics voting thread for week 7. This week, we're taking our first exploration into the month of February. And we've spared no expense (or taken any, actually) to bring you the very finest in classic PMVs from this magical month. So let's jump right in and get to the good stuff:

✭ρ♏V ✭ ~ ♪♬ ~ в ℓ σ ω ~ ♪♬ || ∂αяк нσσƒ ѕтυ∂ισѕ ❤ |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMGRZhzKY-M

Clash by TommyXe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVUEYlyQVI8

Strive Like Applejack by Shiropoint
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT31ZeCNdBw

As you can see, we've gone to great lengths to guarantee this will be the most difficult vote so far. So cast your votes, and look for the winner this Sunday night.

EDIT: Thanks to Mr. ShinyObject for catching my mistake in this post. The proper link for PMV #2 has been added.

(You've got the wrong link for clash)

Wow, you weren't kidding. I only briefly remembered the first one, but it's a collab between a lot of my favorite artists. It's the only clear no, though, because of it's inconsistency.

The second is one of my all time favorites and I don't even need to click it to remember what it is. It introduced me to Caravan Palace. I was never too much of a huge fan of the PMV itself, though, because of it's seemingly random selection.

Shiropoint can do no wrong (well, except for debatably Learn Like Twilight), and it's an amzing piece of work that culminates very well and all the bits work together as a whole. It gets my vote.

I think you definitely succeeded in making this vote fairly difficult.

Anyway, the first video I don't enjoy too much, too many special effects that make the video a bit hard to watch and it doesn't seem to follow any sort of consistent theme, although that is probably because they had so many different people working on it. This results in a bit of a jumbled mess, and while individual parts sometimes work well the whole isn't that great.

Clash is one of my favorite pmvs, mainly because the different visuals that are used work well with the song, and the nature of the song leads to many of those visuals showing up again and mixing with others which I think is a bit interesting. The video does get a little cluttered at certain points of the song in order to follow this pattern though, and I think that's part of the reason the song is cut off as the complexity could get a bit too high if continued.

My vote for this week, however, is for Strive like Applejack for a couple reasons. First, I enjoyed some of the attention to detail that went into the first 30 or so seconds of the film, especially the scene with Applejack and Winona running with both the fence and the trees passing in sync with different parts of the song. Secondly, the transitions between the scenes is smooth as well as being pretty unique. Finally, this pmv knows what it's goal is and I think both the music choice as well as the video itself both help it set out and accomplish what it intends to do.
