Your Most Successful Video
For the sake of this thread, we're defining most successful by number of view. I thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone most succesful video was, and how it go so successful. Doesn't have to specifically be a PMV.

For me it was my video edit of the Incredibles, addressing the Fighting is Magic C&D. It got posted to Reddit and got very popular quite quickly. Gaining a few thousand view within an hour of it's release. I thought that'd be it, but people started sharing it all over the place. In just 3 days it gained almost 30,000 views. Since then it's died down but is still fairly popular.

I find it ironic that it was the work I spent the least amount of time creating (just a few hours) that got the best response from the public.

RE: Your Most Successful Video
Ooh, didn't know you made that Camsy! Great little vid, haha. Most people love parodies to lighten up some bad news, and yours was appropriately timed.

My most popular vid was a PMV of the song "Bring It All Back" I made to celebrate getting 100 subs. Really, I just wanted to make the PMV because S Club's music really fits with MLP, as cheesy as their songs are. They were my childhood. My PMV didn't explode upon being released to the world and made public, but rather it just laid low for the first few days. I think the point of impact was when MicTheMicrophone reblogged it from somewhere. I went on Tumblr and the notes were just piling up. Massive head explosion. Just having people admire what you do... all at once. The views just grew from there on, snowballing out of control in a good way. At the moment it stands around 34,000 views, with my All Star PMV in close 2nd with 29,000.
I know it's not hundreds of thousands of views, but the moment itself was still enough to make me grin like an idiot at 3am. Best moment of my channel, by far. Smile

My most popular video was a stupid 30 second fad response. I won't even bother posting it here because I hate it so much.

RE: Your Most Successful Video
Well, I posted this a week ago and it EQD'd, and by now has more views than any video of mine, so I'll call it 'popular'.

I actually like it, it's my best work so far :v

RE: Your Most Successful Video
Ooh, I like this thread. Okay, here's the most popular PMV I've ever made. I finished this the day after I first heard the song used; I knew I had to make a video of this. Needless to say, the success of this PMV surpassed all my expectations. Hope you enjoy it too.

Don't be fooled by the view count. This video was never featured on Equestria Daily. Most of the views, by some bizarre stroke of good luck, came from the fact that under the search term, "it's always a good time", this was the first non-official music video result. As you can imagine, this led to a ton of non-bronies finding this video, making it both my most liked and disliked video ever, as well.

By tomorrow, this video will eclipse 50,000 views, a momumental achievement I never would've imagined when I started.

I've found that EQD's exposure will usually get you between a few hundred and a few thousand view, depending how many other videos are posted in the same thread as yours and how quickly other posts push yours out of the front page.

It seems to me that the real thing that makes some videos popular is just luck. The internet works in strange and mysterious ways! Tongue Obviously vids like Double Rainboom are going to get heaps of view when they come out but they expect to get a lot of view, something most small video makers don't expect.
