Hello everyone, and today I’m bringing you not with a PMV, but an animation. A really touchy one too. Focusing on Lyra (my second favorite background pony) as the main focus in this animation, along with a small filly. Well… it’s better to watch the video then me explaining about the story. But anyways, it starts all normal and then funny, and then at the end I was like “Awwwww!!” Great animation by Agrol, really liked it!
Winter’s F***ed Up by AnimatedJames (and a bunch of other people)
WARNING: SO NSFW IT HURTS! HIDE THE YOUNG’NS BEFORE VIEWING!
It’s been a really, really long time since anyone’s done anything new with ‘Winter Wrap Up’, so it’s certainly a surprise to see something like…this, come straight out of nowhere. Pleasantly suprising, I suppose. Well anyway, the video we’ll be featuring today is a very…overt, group project from some well-known VAs and vocalists in our community, singing a song about how much winter blows. Though, try as they might, no one will ever get me to not like winter, being the man of…considerable size as I am.
Though there is one thing about it I don’t regard too fondly, and that is of course, the music. If you’ve ever been in a department store, you know what I mean, and that is that it feels like the winter season has been shoved down our throats since the end of October. Seriously, do not come to my house this Christmas and try to sing anything, because I’m pretty sure I could legally shoot you.
Whoa…that got a little dark. Sorry about that.
Anyway, the song is given additional life by one of our community’s more unique animators, and personally I rather enjoy the more “skecthbooky style” that’s starting to become more prominent lately. As a child of Atari, I can attest that visual pleasantry is not always equivalent to substance. Though, in this case, this video does have both, and I am pleased to share it with you today, and I invite you all to stay warm throughout this freezin’ season. POETRY, MUTHAF****A!!
We have an interesting video today, one that requires interpretation. This is an original animation of an original song by OhPonyBoy, who most of you probably know from his popular video, Princess Luna’s Whine.
Once again, the animation does not fail to impress and it gives the video an unnatural flair of being mysterious and the ponies being adorable. I’m not quite sure how to critique on the song itself, but the harmonizing was perfect. Here goes my attempt at trying to briefly analyse it..
It’s a song about moving on from the past and that it’s time to stop procrastinating and setting out to achieve your dreams, no matter how treacherous or torturous the road may be. (From the lyrics “It’s a long lonely mile, I have to cross tonight, I better go, before daylight”) It’s also about not giving up and never allowing obstructions to stand in your way.
Well, that’s roughly what my interpretation of the song was. You probably have a different idea of what the song truly means to you, so check out this original animation and song below!
Sidetracking from the usual PMVs posted here, we have an animation for all of you today. To start things off, this is personally one of my favorite animations that I’ve seen this fandom come up so far especially since it’s done in an almost flawless manner. It’s creative and unique, which is one of the primary reasons why I enjoyed this animation so much.
It has some comical moments as well, to satisfy your craving for humour and overall, it’s a really spectacular animation and it is very different from the usual animations that we see. Check it out below, it’s definitely worth watching!
Right off the bat, I have to go ahead and admit, somewhat shamefully, that I have never watched any of the Fallout Equestria material. After seeing this PMV, however, I can definitely say that I want to! This video is definitely epic, a word that is typically used too loosely, but here fits. The music is perfect for the stunning visuals of the SFM scenes. The editing together of the various source of Fallout Equestria footage is well done, but I did find it somewhat jarring to switch from SFM footage to a standard MLP style and back. I can jive with SFM when it’s on its own, but I’m not sure I care for it being married to the normal flash animation.
Small gripes aside, this is a cool and dramatic video with some great music and visuals, so check it out below!
Break out the spile and bucket, because things are about to get sappy.
Ugh. That was a bad joke. Anyway, let’s move on. This custom animation is a real treat. Clocking in at over five minutes, there is plenty to love here. The song is romantic and feelsy, and the footage has a smooth, slightly surreal style that fits well. I was having a little bit of trouble following the plot of it, however, although I guess it couldn’t be too complicated, really. I felt bad for the cyan/blonde pony, though, I do know that.
It may not be the best animation I have ever seen, but I can tell that a lot of work and love was put into this, and I really loved some of the visuals that have been created here. It’s emotional, romantic, and entertaining. What more could you ask for?
Check it out below!
OhPonyBoy brings us yet another very.. interesting and entertaining animation with a very cute style, yet doesn’t focus too much on the cute aspect of it. A very.. entertaining video this is folks! Strange, but entertaining! That’s what we’ve come to expect from him though! Check it out below!
Apologies in advance for my lack of knowledge of any particular references or source material presented here.. I simply cannot make out what is going on here. From what I’ve gathered.. the main protagonist here must save the other person in distress.. and os he goes on a journey to search for them. I think it’s the wacky editing, the catchy rhythm to the song, and the adorable characters that really sell this piece for me. The original song isn’t in English, but provides you with multiple languages to choose from, as well as lyrics in its description. So it definitely isn’t something you want to glance over and move on to the next post.. I assure you so! Check it out below!
