We have a special Easter Sunday treat for everyone today. Our good friend Crowne Prince has blessed our basket with another edition of her amazing “Pony High” series. There’s something truly special about the animation style here: so fluid and expressive, and yet so…well, ‘sloppy’ isn’t the right word, but it does have a certain hand-drawn charm to it that no one else is doing right now. And that’s what makes Prince so wonderful as an animator; her uniqueness, the skill and courage to do something outside the norm, and an amazing connectivity with the audience (which really speaks to her personality). So check out this video, and then head on over to CP’s Channel and check out all the other amazing work she has to offer. You won’t regret it.
Hello again everyone! Dae314 back as your personal weekend overlord except this time I’m sick and tired of music videos. Do you hear me! Sick! And! Tired! Agrol, give me something to watch that isn’t a music video.
Aah that’s much better. Thank you Agrol for this adorable little short. “Just Be Me” has a lot to like. First of all, who couldn’t fall head over heels for baby Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack! The animation itself is creamy smooth and the little bit of voice acting isn’t bad either. Twilight sounded especially good, and even the fast paced scenes were executed flawlessly. The sound effects and background music are also well done. I only wish there were more of both since the video comes off as awfully quiet. As for the content, it is something pretty much everybody 5 years old and up can identify with. It brings back everybody’s favorite memories of childhood without all of the cuts and bruises and older kids ruling the playground. Best of all, this short animation has a cute tiny little plot! I don’t know about you, but I would love it if the idea from this animation were used in an actual episode. It’s not hard to imagine all of the high jinks a full cast of mane6 fillies could get into. So without further ado, I am proud to present to you “Just Be Me” by AgrolChannel.
Summer’s on its way in just a few short months, which means the thick of the convention season is nearly upon us. And today, we’ve got a doozy of a promo, brought to life by one of our most prolific animators, and starring one of the most adorable little mascots I’ve ever seen. Her accent is pretty cute too, but I guess that comes with the territory of hosting a New Orleans convention. Anyway, this little video ad is done in the style of one of my favorite series of commercials; they’re actually the reason I first picked up a Dos Equis. (Don’t drink under the age, kids. And grown-ups, always drink responsibly) The video is meant to draw attention to DerpyCon South 2014, a second-year convention that is hoping to match its initial success, and it’s currently accepting donations here. So give the gift of a wonderful weekend experience to a brony friend in another part of the world, and do so generously. And always, always, Stay Brony, My Friends.
Welcome to the other side of Hump Day! When are we officially on the “other side” of the hump, anyway? Does it happen right at noon? Hm. I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel like I’m on the far side until I actually clock out from work, get into my stretchy pants, and eat at least one and a half snack packs of Oreos.
So I guess that means we made it! Better save your remaining half-pack of Oreos, though, because the weekend is our next stop, and we’re going to need those cookies. You know… for the parties.
Anyhoo, as a reward for making it this far, have this:
An alicorn princess gazing at a magical flower has never looked quite so intense before, and I hasten to bet it won’t be again. There’s something delightfully charming about all the lighting effects, the fire-based transformation, and the hand-drawn feel of the background, that makes this particular animation totally unique compared to all the others we’ve seen so far.
Make sure you check out some of the other works on this great editor’s channel, because while this video is awesome independently, it appears that the other animations combine to tell an even more awesome story. So go check them out, and subscribe while you’re at it!
Today we have a cool new animation featuring everyone’s favorite sort-of-together background pair, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia. It’s a wonderfully heart-warming, yet silly reminder of the idea that it’s the thought that counts, and that that thought counts for more when you don’t literally wait for the last minute. If you’re celebrating any birthdays today, or any special occasion for that matter, this is a good video to watch to keep that lesson in mind. Now, there isn’t really any voice acting to speak of in this animation, preferring to tell its story through visual gags such as facial cues, double takes, and also some hilarious sound effects. But it’s much cooler that way, like looking at a modern, much more awesome silent film. Also, sleepy Scratch from the thumbnail is like the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
So check it out below, hope you enjoy!
If you’re a child of the 90s like me, chances are you might have gotten caught in the perpetual money pit that was the Pokemon franchise. Before it became the mega-monolith of pointless add-ons that it is today, a game was released on N64. It was the very first full 3D Pokemon adventure that finally allowed you to capture all your favorites. ON FILM. Okay, maybe it wasn’t the adventure we wanted, but it was a pretty fun game for what it was.
And speaking of fun, one of my most very favorite fan series has once again been Sister-fied, based entirely around this game. The fun starts right away with them in the cart, throwing “Apples” at Pidgeys on a beach, and the humor never lets up from there. It’s a great callback to a hallmark of our childhood, past and “present”, and we hope you enjoy it!
As you probably know, this video series can be kinda crude at parts. But you’re all big boys; I’m sure you can handle it. Just, you know, fair warning.
Happy Boxing Day, Canada!
To celebrate the busiest re-gifting/exchanging/returning day of the holiday season, I wanted to share something adorable involving ponies and boxes, and this sweet little animation was the first thing that came to mind. So here’s something to go along with all those sugar cookies you’re all eating this week; just be careful not to overdo it. We don’t want any of you getting sick out there.
But for the adventurous who don’t hold their health in too high of a regard, here’s a 10-hour looping version.
Alright, you guys all take it easy, I gotta get going to work and handle the mountain of returns we’re surely going to get. Not really looking forward to it… But anyway, enjoy the video and the rest of your holiday season.
We all know the holiday season is all about love and peace and all those kinds of positive feelings. So it stands to reason that the one entity who would enjoy that the most would be the Queen of the Changelings. So here for your holiday viewing pleasure, we at PMV Today are proud to present a short public service announcement featuring Miss Chrysalis herself. She shares with us a few pointers about proper conduct, ensuring that we all enjoy a safe, peaceful, and delicious holiday season. We, of course, wish the same to you and all your families and friends.
This time of year, most of us have not as much Free time as one would expect, There Is allways much this season. However, Surely we can take a little time of to enjoy a funny animation?
It’s animation is quite fluid in its motions, which makes the video look wonderful. The voice acting is also very accurate. Twilight is going to get her picture taken, and if i really said anything more I would be exposing too much information about it. The video Builds up to a fairly predictable joke, but its executed nicely and the end result is more fitting than one would imagine.
We also get to know Twilight’s middle name is starla, Which would make sense by the way. Since Starla means “Star”, Twilight “Star” Sparkle.
Give it a watch, but don’t blink, it might be over in a flash.
I approve This.
[Added Info]: There is, Sadly, no book named: “Smiling For Dummies“.
