I don’t know about all of you, but I get pretty cranky when someone wakes me up before I’m ready. Applejack seems to just roll with it though, must be an occupational hazard of living near Pinkie Pie. I’m usually a little wary of 3D pony animations because it’s so hard to make them look natural. However I was quite impressed with the quality of this animation done in Source Film Maker. Looking forward to seeing more ponies enter the third dimension!
Today we have another video featuring some custom animated singing ponies. The author has gotten really skilled at animating the character’s mouth to match the singing, which is a welcome addition for these types of videos. Also very cool was the cursive typography during the letter writing scenes. I imagine that the haphazard placement of the words is due to the dire situation described in the song, which is a nice touch.
Following in the abstract style pioneered by Feedsy’s Dork PMV, this video does an admirable job of being entertaining using almost nothing but shapes and pictures of cutie marks. However art isn’t defined by the pieces that go into making it, but rather how if affects its audience. For myself, I was both delighted as well as inspired to work harder at improving my editing skills. I think all of us would agree that this simple television show has provided more inspiration to more people than anyone could have ever predicted, and that inspiration has produced some truly amazing things. Keep it up Bronies!
The ponification process has now spread to the realm of competitive computer games in the form of this parody of a DOTA2 trailer. There is so much awesome packed into this video that you will be looking for your socks afterwords, because they will have been knocked clean off. I have been known to dabble in the various DOTA type games, so it was really cool to see the pony version of a lot of the popular heroes. The animation of the fighting scenes is top notch quality, very smooth and with a lot of flashy effects. I definitely can’t wait for more in the same vein as this!
The newest animation by jjkmovies is their most epic one yet! Taking on a story as long and complex as Lord of the Rings is no easy feat, but they managed to cover most of the important parts in the movies. There are a good mix of funny scenes (mostly with Rainboromir) and dramatic scenes, and I really got a kick out of hearing a ponified version of some of my favorite speeches from the movie. A great combination of two awesome series!
Hope everyone enjoyed the start of Season 3, I know I did! Now that there is a plethora of new footage, I expect a ton of awesome new PMVs! Today’s video is an original animation to an original pony song, so I guess that makes it super original? The singing animation is nicely lip synched, and I enjoyed the speeding scenery in the background. Some cool typography and well placed audio waveform visualizations round out the video.
This video is an entirely original animation of Princess Luna, featuring an extremely fitting song from the game “League of Legends”. The princess of the night is portrayed as at first rather sad and introspective, transforming into the dark goddess of vengeance at the end. The singing animation is very well done, and the whole thing captures the dichotomy of Luna’s character very well.
Today we have another incredible animation by Feedsy. The video does a really excellent job capturing the unique personalities of each of the mane six while only using colors, shapes, and movement. The animation is anything but simple however, with each scene smoothy transitioning to the next with explosions of color. A video like this reminds us how well crafted these cartoon pony characters truly are, and why we’ve all become so attached to them!
Very cool video today, my PMV loving friends. Anyone who’s seen Cowboy Bebop remembers Spike’s epic two minute tumble from the church window to the tune of Green Bird. Here that scene has been completely recreated, pony style of course. Still as dramatic as before, but featuring the life of Twilight Sparkle flashing before her eyes instead of Spike Spiegel. Overall a beautiful video that pays homage to an anime classic.
Warning: a little blood in this one. To be expected for a song from the “Rainbow Factory” universe. I can’t get over how awesome this song by WoodenToaster and H8_Seed is. Coupled with another nicely done animation from BronyDanceParty and we get one sweet vid. While I haven’t read the fanfic that inspired the song, I like the idea presented in the video that some of the workers would have second thoughts and attempt to find redemption.
