Musicians can sell their tracks, artists can gain enough fame to do commissions. PMV makers just do it for fun or possibly boredom i can never tell sometimes.

If you're creative enough to work with copyright restrictions, you can monetize your channel and profit from views. Just sayan. Rolleyes

I thought the content for those monetised videos has to be original and not belong to other artists or media?

That's why I said if you're creative enough to work with the copyright: Using short clips and music without any restrictions tagged to it. Confused

Hmm from what i've read about it so far it's only really worthwhile if i've got lots of subscribers, otherwise i'll just be bugging what few folks i have with ads, which is not ideal for me.

RE: Eq Daily's View on PMV's
Anyone noticed that EQ Daily's PMV compilations are getting few and far between? Like, one compilation in almost a month now? It's not like there's a shortage of good videos either and I'm sure people are sending theirs in. At the same time music and images gets compilations mostly on a daily basis Rolleyes

It totally kills the point of having a compilation, since compilations are there to give room for more content. They could have a post of three PMV's on a daily basis, or close to a daily basis (and I don't see why there's no room for that) and give plenty of room for more content than a compilation of five videos every two weeks could

While it's true there's music of the day posts the actual music spotlights are much less common now.
Of the spotlighted music the majority are taken up by already well known names in the fandom.

Not as reduced as the PMV posts there likes. I dunno if it's due to a lack of people sending them in. Other than Littleshy's videos there's not much in video entertainment out there atm. :/

RE: Eq Daily's View on PMV's
I'd just like to run some statistics by you guys regarding this topic:

Last PMV post: Nov 6
Last one before that: Nov 2 (a solo for Acleps's Ascension)
Last PMV Compilation Post: Oct 30

That may not seem like much, but considering they post 14-16 times a day, you have to think there must be lots of PMVs out there that we're missing out on, for whatever reason they decide not to post them.

You know what I did notice a lot of? Animations. A full 17 posts of them since the last PMV compilation. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it seems a tad unfair and unbalanced. And speaking of wrong, while I understand that some people like the "Everything Wrong With" series, and other various analysis videos, I really don't see how each one is deserving of its own post, which takes away from other deserving content. There really should be a better way to handle those. Maybe a collection post, like a roundup or something?

I've kinda gotten away from my logical, statistical argument and drifted off into ranting, so I'm just going to leave that there and you can take whatever you want away from it.

It's possible people just aren't sending them in?

I suppose it's possible that some of the folks that made pmvs have gone on to make animations?

I find them amusing.
I think it's probably down to the lack of content they're getting, normally in the busy periods you'd see those kinds of videos in the nightly roundups but with less content to pump out videos like that are more likely to get solo postings.
At least that's my view on it. I could be wrong.

If you mean all the animations, it's likely Seth doesn't wait to collect them and just post them ASAP hence the high post counts for them I guess.
Don't ask me why he does it that way. I have no idea.

Well I'm not sure it's limited just to EqD, as EFR also seem to be going through a bit of a dry spell with them too.

To be fair there are many great analysis videos that never got featured on EQG.

This level of reasoning is possible for TerriccotaPie!

Well... Speak of the devil... Tongue

(dat post description tho...)

I looked through the comments for the lols and saw the one comment by ZipperQR (put it in the bottom right corner).
I know everyone is entitled to their opinions but.. isn't useless a bit of a harsh word?
(I call myself useless with many other things and I don't want videos to be another thing)
